    It looks even better in person than in the photos!

    I have wanted a case for storing and displaying my fountain pen collection for some time. Until I found this one, I never saw any that were quite what I was looking for. This one is very well-made, sturdy, and attractive. In fact, it looks even better in person than in the photos! The black wood is probably not ebony, as others have noted, but it's smooth and nicely finished. I would have preferred vintage-looking hardware, or perhaps even no hardware, but the minimalist stainless steel drawer pulls have grown on me. They may not be terribly practical, since they are hard to grasp, but I usually just open the drawers and the top by gripping the outside with a hand on either side. The drawers slide easily and I like the fact that they come out completely. The lining is a pale gray that contrasts well with the black wood, and shows off my pens to good effect. I was surprised to discover that the bottom is covered with a velvety cloth so as not to scratch any surface the box might be displayed on - a welcome feature that was not even mentioned in the product description. Finally, I was impressed by how well it was packed for shipment, since I've read reviews of cases from other manufacturers that often arrive damaged, in pieces, or with a cracked window. This display case is well-worth the money and I'm delighted to have found it. And, oh, by the way, I'm a woman. It's not just men who collect fountain pens!

    Very Functional

    I collect Pelikan fountain pens and needed a nice functional display case for my desk. This fits perfect. It looks good and is sturdy. The slots that hold the pens are lined and will protect the pens. The case holds 30 pens but is not too big to sit on a desk, it's a perfect size. Love it and would recommend to anybody that wants a sturdy, good looking fountain pen display case.

    Received the item in immaculate condition, thanks! Item is as good as shown. However, for collectors of Namiki Emperor range of pens, do note that the pen will not fit into the slots, unfortunately.
